Introduction

Efficiently managing applicant screening is crucial to ensure your teams can find the most qualified candidates within your applicant pool while delivering a timely response to all applicants. Searchlight offers a comprehensive solution to streamline this process. This guide will walk you through setting up and optimizing your applicant screening workflow using Searchlight.

Step 1. Feature Access

Gain access to Searchlight's Applicant Screening features. If you want to start a trial or have a demo, book time with Andrew Olsen, our Head of Customer Success.

Ensure all necessary team members are invited into your environment.

Step 2. Integrate with your ATS

  1. Access Integration Settings: In your Searchlight "Company Settings", go to the "Add connection" section.

  2. Choose Your ATS: Select your ATS from the list of compatible systems. See our integration deep-dive pages for specific ATS integrations.

  3. Authorize and Connect: Follow the instructions to authorize the connection between Searchlight and your ATS.

Step 3. Watch the Magic Happen

  1. Evaluate Active Jobs: All active jobs will be ported over to Searchlight from your ATS.

  2. Automatically Import All Candidates and Job Descriptions with requisite Stages: All Jobs will be setup within Searchlight, where we will use AI on each Job Description to create screening criteria.

Step 4. Set Screening Criteria and Activate Screening

  1. Define Screening Criteria: For each job listing, set specific screening criteria based on role requirements.

  2. Customize AI Parameters: Adjust AI settings to focus on desired skills and qualifications.

  3. Activate Screening: Enable the AI screening feature to start processing applications.

5. Review Applicants

  1. Access Candidate Inbox: Check the ‘Candidate Inbox’ for AI-screened applicants.

  2. Review Categories: Applicants will be categorized as 'Recommended', 'Neutral', or 'Not a Fit'.

  3. Evaluate Based on AI Insights: Use AI-generated insights to assess candidates in each category.

  4. Accept or Reject Applicants: Decide to move candidates to the next stage or reject them based on the AI analysis.

  5. Automatic ATS Update: Accepted candidates automatically progress in the ATS; rejected candidates receive a preset message.
