Behavioral Models 🧬 can 4x your ability to predict a candidate's performance on the job

Behavioral Models in Searchlight is a set of defined criterion on what to hire for in a given role. The simplest way to think about Behavioral Models in Searchlight are that they are the equivalent of a Hiring Scorecard.

Behavioral Models comprise of:

  • Winning Traits, which is a selection of soft skills that you want to hire for

  • Winning Working Styles, which is a selection of preferred working styles you want to hire for

By focusing on these two, you will be 4x more predictive of a candidate’s performance on the job than solely relying on technical skills and knowledge. In fact, LinkedIn reports that 89% of mishires are due to a soft skills mismatch.

There are two primary ways to create a Behavioral Model in Searchlight:

  1. Using Team Analytics by focusing on the Behavioral Traits and Working Styles of high performers

  2. Using one of our Gold Standard Benchmarks that have benchmark data across our 100,000+ data set for 36 job families in both IC and manager roles

Custom Metrics to Configure Quality of Hire 🎛️: Customize how your department leaders measure Quality of Hire for their teams

Custom Metrics allow you to upload unique custom metrics for each of your teams to bring nuance and insight in how teams approach Quality of Hire. We designed this specifically to empower Talent teams to engage their cross-functional partners on a more nuanced and strategic approach to Quality of Hire.

Common use cases we had heard in the past 12 months included:

  • Hiring Manager Satisfaction: Using an existing or Searchlight manager satisfaction survey in which at the 90-day mark, managers are asked whether they would re-make the hire on a 1-5 point scale

  • Performance Reviews: Using performance review ratings at the end of the first year to measure new hire performance

  • Quota attainment: Using quota attainment at the end of the ramp up period to measure Quality of Hire for sales teams

  • Customer operational metrics: Using operational metrics like ticket response times, customer satisfaction scores, etc. to measure Quality of Hire for customer teams

Now you can use our CSV uploads to designate any number of custom metrics for your organization. Learn more here 👈
